If you have a small kitchen like mine, you know how tricky it can be to keep your pots and pans organized without everything toppling over every time you cook. Today, I decided to finally tackle my deep, messy cabinet — and it turned out better than I expected!
The Starting Point
It all began when I took out a pot we bought long ago but never used. I was convinced I didn’t have space for it anymore. But once I emptied the cabinet and started rearranging, I realized it was all about how things were placed — not the lack of space.
Rearranging the Deep Cabinet
My cabinet is quite deep, so I decided to store the things I don’t use often in the back. I used my cake box to house small appliances I rarely touch — no need to buy a new bin or basket! Then, I tucked my kids’ old water bottles at the far end. We don’t use them much anymore, but I like to keep them just in case.
In the front, I arranged the pots I use every day. They’re easy to grab and keep the space looking tidy.
The Struggle with Lids (and the Fix I Need!)
The one thing that still drives me crazy? The pot and pan lids! They never seem to stay in place. I definitely plan to buy a lid organizer soon — something slim that can stand upright inside the cabinet or hang behind the door. Since our kitchen is small, I don’t like leaving things out on the counter. A lid organizer would make a big difference in keeping the space neat and functional.
The Bottom Half of the Cabinet
On the bottom shelf, I keep my rarely used bowls and my mixer bowl (with its accessories neatly stored inside). In the front, I have my three pans — a small pan, a skillet, and a grill pan (which I mostly use for pancakes). All of them are stainless steel because I prefer them over non-stick.

My Little Storage Hack
💡 Tip: Repurpose what you already have! Old boxes, lunch boxes, or even baking tins can make great organizers. You don’t always need to buy fancy storage containers to make your kitchen functional.
